Bulgaria to play key role in introduction of new corporate taxation

Photo: library

European Parliament delegation visited Sofia to discuss legislative proposals for Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base. CCCTB is a single set of rules to calculate companies’ taxable profits in the EU. With the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base cross-border companies will only have to comply with one, single EU system for computing their taxable income, rather than many different national rulebooks. The national tax systems are too old for the digital economies of the 21st century and may result in tax evasion, the European Parliament contends. According to MEP Paul Tang, the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will be crucial for the introduction of new corporate taxation.
