Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva has met with the First Vice-President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans. The two discussed future joint work during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. Minister Zaharieva will become chair of the General Affairs Council. Zaharieva and Timmermans have discussed some of the topics that are to be brought to the attention of the Council, such as the rule of law under the Treaties and the EU prospects for the six Western Balkan countries which are not yet part of the EU including a number of policies that focus on connectivity.
