Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office investigates assault over Bulgarian citizen by personnel of Hamzabeyli border checkpoint

Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office has been investigating an assault over a Bulgarian citizen by personnel of Hamzabeyli border checkpoint near Lesovo border crossing. The incident happened on Bulgarian territory on Sunday morning near the area for disinfection of light vehicles. According to Bulgarian border employees, some of their Turkish colleagues from Hamzabeyli border crossing entered Bulgarian territory and used physical force against the citizen who already crossed the state border with his vehicle. The man's left eye is bruised and swollen after the incident.
