Ivaylo Moscovski: Transport Corridor № 8 is vital for integration of Western Balkans

Bulgaria’s Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moscovski and Macedonia’s Minister of Transport and Communications Goran Sugareski signed in Skopje a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing railway links between Sofia and Skopje. The document will be used in the future collaboration related to the construction of a railway link between the capitals of Bulgaria and Macedonia. Bulgaria promised to build by 2027 a railway line connecting Sofia and the Bulgaria-Macedonia border. Macedonia voiced commitment to build a railway line connecting Skopje and the Macedonia-Bulgaria border by 2025. The Transport Corridor № 8 is vital for the integration of the Western Balkans and we are to look for targeted funding, Minister Moscovski pointed out. Ivailo Moscovski added that the future activities of the countries participating at the project will be subject to discussions at the European Commission.
