Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and her Sudanese counterpart Ibrahim Ghandour will discuss on Thursday in Sofia bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Sudan as well as the update of the legal and contractual basis of the ties between the two countries. The Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute and the Sudanese Center for Diplomatic Studies will sign a memorandum of understanding. This is the first visit of Sudanese Foreign Minister to Sofia since 1989 and its significance is assessed within the context of the new social and political processes in the Middle East and North Africa after the so-called Arab Spring.
