An international crime group specialized in illegal trafficking of young women, including Bulgarian women, to Spain for the purpose of sexual exploitation has been dismantled, Bulgaria’s Prosecutor’s Office announced at a briefing on Tuesday. The international operation was held under the name Europe. Bulgaria's Chief Directorate Combating Organized Crime and the Prosecutor’s Office took part at the international operation. 51 women from families with low incomes fell victims to human trafficking. They were mainly from the Roma minority. The gang used violence against the victims and their families. The authorities searched the homes of the members of the criminal group and seized documents, money in cash, jewelry, mobile devices, watches and a gun. All detainees have criminal records.
