Common history should not divide Bulgaria and Macedonia. It should draw those two countries together, Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva said on occasion of the visit of Macedonia’s Premier Zoran Zaev to Bulgaria. Deputy Premier Zaharieva told the Bulgarian National Television that she was encouraged by Zaev’s visit to Sofia, because such messages were unthinkable until recently. Deputy Premier Zaharieva voiced hopes that on August 2 Bulgaria and Macedonia will sign the good neighbor agreement. On Tuesday Minister Zaharieva discussed concrete measures in that direction with her Macedonian counterpart Nikola Dimitrov.
