In a televised interview Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva stated that “the Turkish ambassador must be careful with his words because he represents Turkey in Bulgaria and when he makes cutting remarks or speaks ill-advisedly, unfortunately, this does nothing to help the relations between the two countries.”
Zaharieva added that Bulgaria and Turkey have maintained relations of friendship for years and that it is in Bulgaria’s national interest to have good relations with all of its neighbours.
