Hundreds of anglers launched protests against illegal net fishing in Bulgaria on Saturday. The protesters demanded that the authorities took the necessary measures against poachers and criminalize net fishing. In their view, the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture is ineffective and its structure has to be changed. They handed out leaflets with their requests to the passing drivers. The protesters warned that if the country’s authorities do not take their demands into consideration their next step will be to block state borders.
