Bulgaria’s printed media accentuates on Monday on the saga related to the formation of the country’s new regular cabinet after the early Parliamentary elections held on March 26. The newspapers focus on the talks between GERB and the Patriotic Front. A new cabinet will not be formed by end April, Sega daily frontpages a headline quoting the forecast of GERB MP Vladislav Goranov. We have not registered a significant progress in our talks with the United Patriots, Vladislav Goranov admits. In his words, the main obstacle to the possible consensus between the two political parties is related to the demand of the patriots for a drastic increase of the minimum state pension. According to Valeri Simeonov from the United Patriots, however, a cabinet may be negotiated by the end of this week. Standart daily is more optimistic and frontpages a headline based on statement of GERB MP Delyan Dobrev that “No particular topic has threatened the future ruling coalition so far.” The newspaper quoted Delyan Dobrev who voiced hopes that the talks between GERB and the United Patriots related to the future government programme will end by April 19. Currently, the talks are based on our election programme, but we have also added priorities of the Patriotic Front, Delyan Dobrev further explains. The good news is that so far there isn’t any particular topic that threatens the formation of the future cabinet, GERB’s MP Dobrev contends. Standart daily quotes the United Patriots who said that new talks would be held between the two parties during the Holy Week. However, due to the forthcoming Easter holidays and the engagements of the United Patriots talks will be held every other day. However, the two parties are expected to announce by April 19 the final proposal about the government programme of the new Bulgarian cabinet, as well the names of the new ministers, the newspaper further writes. “Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev summons on April 19 the first session of the country’s new National Assembly. GERB and the United Patriots about to complete their government programme”, Trud daily informs on its first pages. GERB and the United Patriots pointed out that they have intensified their talks due to the forthcoming summit of the National Assembly Speakers in Bratislava, the newspaper further informs. On April 23 and 24 the key declaration on cooperation related to Bulgaria’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union is to be signed in Slovakia.
