Around 8 percent of Bulgarians with depression symptoms: Eurostat

Around 8 percent of Bulgarians aged 18 or over suffer from different forms of depression symptoms, indicates a Eurostat analysis on depression in the EU countries in 2015.

The most widespread depression symptoms in Bulgaria are anxiety, inability to experience pleasure, poor concentration, loss of energy, slow thinking, inability to make decisions. Frequently, one of the first symptoms is insomnia, with the change to daylight saving time a likely cause. In our part of the world seasonal depressions are most often manifested in springtime and in autumn, experts say.
