Bulgaria will continue to advocate the realization of Ukraine’s European prospect, said President Rumen Radev at a meeting with the ambassador of Ukraine Mikola Baltaji which took place at the presidency.

The Bulgarian head of state was adamant that the crisis in eastern Ukraine can only be settled by political means. He stated that the administrative-territorial reform taking place in Odessa Oblast should take into account historical characteristics and preserve the status of the Bolhrad region. Bulgarians in Ukraine are a “living bridge” between the two countries, said President Radev. I expect the new laws on education and the state language, currently being drafted, not to affect adversely the Bulgarian language tuition of our minority in any way, Rumen Radev said further.
