25th Antarctic expedition ends, brings Bulgaria base to advancement

The leader of the 25th Bulgarian National Antarctic Expedition Prof. Hristo Pimpirev told BGNES agency he was happy that the expedition had involved a few young scientists – geologists, geophysicists, geochemists and biologists who had worked with their colleagues from Mongolia, Turkey, USA and Spain on problems of global climate change. Also Prof. Pipmpirev remarked that the Bulgarian Antarctic base had been advanced to a new technological stage. Now it has a phone line with a Spanish number, an internet connection and an off-lifting Manitou vehicle. Summing up the 25th expedition Prof. Hirsto Pimpirev told BGNES: “We finally got into the 21 c., into a new era at our base with new equipment and above all with the young scientists who have been involved in Antarctic research.”
