President Rumen Radev officially assumes office

Bulgaria’s outgoing President Rossen Plevneliev and the country’s outgoing Vice President Margarita Popova welcomed at the Presidency in Sofia the new President Rumen Radev and Vice President Iliana Yotova. They took photos in the Coat of Arms Hall. Later, Rossen Plevneliev met with President Radev. Outgoing Vice-President Popova met with Bulgaria’s new Vice President Yotova. President Radev saw Rossen Plevneliev out the Presidency building. Earlier, outgoing President Plevneliev and the country’s new head of state Radev laid wreath in front of the Monument to the Unknown Soldier and paid homage to the soldiers who gave their lives for the freedom of Bulgaria with a minute of silence. Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte held service at St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
