Bulgarian trucking companies ready for counter blockade of border with Greece

It was reported that Greek farmers would begin protests on January 23 which means that roadblocks are expected, including blockade of the border with Bulgaria. The reason for the protest is discontent of farmers over the economic policy of the Greek government.

Bulgarian international carriers announced that they were ready for immediate counter blockade if officials in Greece did not prevent protesting farmers from closing the border between the two countries.

Last year the blockade of the border organized by Greek farmers continued for over 40 days. Hundreds of drivers of heavy trucks were stranded for days on both sides of the border.
