962 illegals expelled from Bulgaria since the beginning of the year

962 foreigners residing in Bulgaria illegally have been convoyed to the country’s borders since the beginning of the year, the Interior Ministry says.

315 of the persons expelled are from Iraq, 206 from Afghanistan, 85 from Syria and 84 from Iran. The first flight to Kabul for repatriating immigrants from Afghanistan, financed and coordinated by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, is scheduled for December. Since April the Interior Ministry has been dispatching officials from different structures to Lesbos Island on a regular basis, to assist the Greek authorities in checking illegal migration.
