On November 18 Ostava, which is among the most favorite bands of Bulgaria's young generation, is to present its new double album named The Best of Ostava at a big concert in Joy Station club. Ostava rock band was established 25 years ago. The band members are Svilen Noev (vocals and guitar), Georgi Georgiev (lead guitar and vocals), Boyan Petkov (bass guitar), Daniel Petrov (drums) and Alexander Marburg (rhythm guitar). The talented musicians from Ostava band play in Brit Rock style, which emerged in England as a combination of pop rock and alternative rock. Oasis, Supergrass, The Verve and Radiohead are among the biggest representatives of that movement. Ostava's first music hit was Sunflower Fields released in 1994. Six years later the band released its first album Ping-Pong. Ostava has been aconstant part of the Bulgarian music rankings in the recent years and often occupied the top positions. The band members are laureates of many awards for alternative rock.
On the eve of Ostava's concert one of its members and a song writer Georgi Georgiev told Radio Bulgaria details about the preparation of the forthcoming concert and the guest musicians:
“We are to present The Best of Ostava album at the concert. It is a double CD consisting of 29 songs recorded live on two concerts in Sofia and Plovdiv. I hope that the audience will really enjoy our performance. Some guest musicians who play often with us such as Sapaev String Quartet, Mihail Shishkov (piano and pedal steel guitar), will also attend the event. Mihail is a great musician and a good friend who took part in our first two albums. Vanya Shtereva and her Match Point support band will appear on the stage before our concert. Vanya has not appeared on stage for quite a long time and I hope that the audience will enjoy her performance as well. We have many good songs from the recent past and will sing all popular pieces at the concert. The music fans will have the chance to hear their favorite songs Chocolate, Ocean, Vnimanie (Attention), Ping- Pong, Manichko Choveche, Sunflower Fields, London-Paris- Berlin, President and Merci Beaucoup. I wrote the songs together with Ostava's lead vocalist Svilen Noev.”
