Rumen Radev is president-elect of Bulgaria with over 58 percent of the votes

Rumen Radev, nominated by an initiative committee and supported by the Bulgarian Socialist Party was elected president of Bulgaria. According to exit poll data, in the runoff of the elections for president he won a little over 58 percent of the votes. His rival – Tsetska Tsacheva, nominated by the ruling GERB party, won a little over 35 percent of the votes. “None of the above” collected around 6 percent of the votes, indicate exit poll data.

According to the Central Election Commission, election day passed normally, without significant irregularities. Voter turnout was around 50 percent.

Earlier in the day PM Boyko Borissov once again vowed, that GERB, the party he is leader of,  would "not take part in the country’s governance in any way", if the party’s candidate Tsetska Tsacheva lost the second round of presidential elections. The results are yet to be made public of the parallel vote tabulation by polling agencies and the final results by the Central Election Commission.
