Bulgaria-Romania gas interconnection launched

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova and her Romanian counterpart Victor Grigorescu, Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister Tomslav Donchev as well as a representative of the European Commission launched the intersystem gas link between Bulgaria and Romania near Rousse on the Danube.

Minister Petkova stated this was a landmark day for Bulgarian power generation, because of the launch of the first intersystem gas link between Bulgaria and a neighbouring country. Ivan Ivanov, chair of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission on his part said this was an important stage in the reform of the energy system started two years ago, a token of our unshakable political will to attain energy independence.
