The priorities of 2017 state budget focus on measures aimed at encouraging reforms in education, developing the country’s defensive capabilities, improving healthcare system and completing the National Programme for Energy Efficiency. The public debt must fluctuate around 25% of the forecasted gross domestic product until 2019. Bulgaria’s authorities are not planning to issue new foreign debt in 2017.
