Bulgaria drops 15 notches in FIFA rankings

The Bulgarian national football team has plummeted 15 whole places in the FIFA rankings for October. After two consecutive losses in the world qualifiers – versus France (1-4) and Sweden (0-3), the Bulgarian squad now occupies the unflattering 89th position with a total of 395 points, trailing the teams of countries like Haiti, Guatemala and Antigua and Barbuda.

The team with the highest position in our qualification group for the 2018 World Cup in Russia is that of European vice-champion France which is 7th with 1,271 points, followed by the Netherlands - 20th with 901 points, Sweden – 39th with 715 points, Belarus – 77th with 452 points and Luxembourg – 130th with 252 points. Otherwise, at the top of the rankings Germany brought Belgium down from second place with 1,465 points. Brazil is in third position with 1,410 points while Belgium is now fourth. The number one position is for Argentina with 1,621 points.
