The recommendation of ruling party GERB to support changes in the Electoral Code, that are to abolish the restriction on opening of maximum of 35 polling stations in other countries, is the main topic of today's press. "Sega" points out the warning of coalition "United Patriots - NFSB, Ataka and VMRO" that it would withdraw its support for the government if the limitation on the number of voting stations in Turkey was lifted. Dnevnik looks in detail at the decision of BZNS to initiate a debate on the topic in the Reform Bloc Coalition with the idea for possible early elections in the spring of 2017. In an article entitled "Earthquake in the ruling coalition,”Standard writes that reformers and patriots were twisting the arms of GERB because of the Electoral Code.

Today "Standard" focusеs on uresolved problems in the "Babino" mine in Bobov Dol, where miners were protesting because of unpaid salaries. The newspaper writes that according to Bozhidar Danev, chair of the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the problems of Bulgarian miners were more important than the refugee issue.

"Duma" newspaper writes that Bulgaria has joined the global protests against the CETA agreement. Some 150 people from various NGOs have organized a protest downtown Sofia, calling for the government’s resignation and for not supporting the controversial agreement. Protests under the slogan "STOP CETA" have taken place in the city of Dobrich. Citizens there signed a declaration calling on Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to withdraw support for the agreement during tomorrow's meeting of EU leaders in Luxembourg.

"Sega" writes that during the past year about 100 people, suspected of traveling to areas controlled by the "Islamic state," have passed through Bulgaria. These were EU citizens suspected of being foreign fighters of the terrorist organization. The majority of them have traveled to Turkey, but some have moved in the opposite direction - towards Western Europe, the paper writes.
