Bulgaria has been fulfilling all its commitments to the preservation of peace and security in Afghanistan. In relation to comments made by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov about the possible withdrawal of the Bulgarian contingent in Afghanistan, Nenchev pointed out he understood the concerns, but according to him, withdrawing security forces from Afghanistan would mean the disintegration of that country, which would make refugee pressure grow greatly.
