Bulgaria and Germany strengthen cooperation in agriculture

Bulgaria and Germany are to look for new opportunities to strengthen cooperation in agriculture field. It became clear during the visit of Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vasil Grudev to the Bavarian Central Agricultural Festival in Munich. Deputy Minister Grudev met with his Bavarian counterpart Hubert Bittlmayer. Grudev and Bittlmayer agreed to establish a joint expert working group. Germany is among Bulgaria’s biggest partners in agricultural trade. That country formed 7%-8% of Bulgaria’s foreign trade with agricultural products in the recent years. In 2015 the agricultural trade between Bulgaria and Germany amounted to EUR 504 million. In the first five months of 2016 the trade with agrucltural produce between the two countries increased with 10.5% year on year.
