Bulgaria’s capacity to accommodate refugees declines

The Bulgarian State Agency for Refugees has announced that it would build bungalows to accommodate some 400 refugees more in the refugee center in Harmanli, Southern Bulgaria. It is expected that in the coming days all currently available accommodation facilities of the Agency will be full. Since the beginning of 2016 more than 13,000 migrants have entered the country, and now on its territory there are about 7,500 people seeking for asylum. The situation in the centers of the Interior Ministry for persons who are a threat to security is more dramatic as they are overcrowded and the number of people reaches 188 percent of accommodation capacity.
