The new school year begins in Bulgaria on 15 September. First graders this year number around 68,000 or almost 1,000 fewer than last year, the number of students from the 1st to the 12th grade in the country is 720,000. Due to the demographic crisis 27 schools have closed doors, 12 of them primary schools with vocational secondary schools next in line.
