There is a growing number of politicians in Bulgaria who wish to divert the country from its Euro-Atlantic course of development. I have been following the Euro-Atlantic path with dedication because I believe that this is the right way. This was what the head of state and supreme commander of the Bulgarian Armed Forces Rossen Plevneliev told officers at the Military Academy in Sofia. Within the upcoming presidential race each candidate will have to clearly define their values and to make concrete commitments on how to deepen the country's integration into the European Union and NATO. It is important for people to know how Euro-Atlantic values will be defended, the president added. He gave the official start of the new 2016-2017 academic year in the oldest higher military school in Bulgaria.
