Bulgaria expects that the EU will decide to multiply the assistance necessary for the protection of the state borders with Turkey and Greece during the forthcoming EU Summit in Bratislava on September 16, Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov said in an interview for BTV. There is a reason for concern and we have to be on the alert, Premier Borissov further pointed out. Bulgaria has to maintain good relations with its neighbors, Premier Borissov said and categorically denied the allegations that he was acting as a courier in the Germany-Turkey relations. In Premier Borissov’s view, the visa regime for Turkish nationals can be alleviated, but at this stage the EU can’t abolish the visa regime for Turkish citizens.
