For an eighth consecutive year from 25 to 28 August Goliam Beglik dam in the Rhodope Mountains becomes the scene of “Beglika Fest” Festival. The concept this time is to unleash every opportunity for inspiration and the theme of the event is the internal awakening of the mind. Internationally acclaimed conductor Yordan Kamdzalov has created the project Music Laboratory for All. The maestro shall guide the festival's guests into an experiment in which Beglika is going to sing!
Burak Malcok who plays the traditional Arabic instrument ney will join the event. He works in cooperation with Mercan Dede - DJ Arkin Allen, as the two mix traditional sound, computer generated music and visuals. Beglika audiences will be invited to enjoy their show Divine Journey. Especially for this year's festival they have prepared a traditional dervish dance.
Beglika Fest also offers various seminars and experiences: Health and Self-Understanding and Falun Dafa based on Far East philosophy. There is also an adventure program including SUP (stand up paddle boarding), the Beglika Ninjas and others. Discussions will focus on New Forms of Life, Innovation, Storytelling and Teamwork. In the meantime the stage is going to welcome unique artistes such as and Grammy holders Deep Forest. Other famous musicians who will appear at Beglika Fest include Swedish ethno music sensation Markandeya band and the Greek Koza Mostra.
There are a few famous Bulgarain musicians on the Beglika playbill: VladaTomova, Avigeya and Man of No Ego. Other participants include Nibrai Circus Theater, Playback Theater Here and Now and Combino Circus.
