Profile of migrants entering Bulgaria changes

In connection with increasing migrant pressure on Bulgaria the Ministry of Interior has started a series of meetings in border regions. Talking to municipal officials in Malko Tarnovo, Southeastern Bulgaria, the Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Georgi Kostov has said that the profile of migrants entering Bulgaria has changed. On the one hand, many of them do not come from countries that are the scene of military actions, and on the other – in terms of behavior they have become more aggressive. In the meantime police operations against illegal migration in Sofia continue. About 20 individuals without ID papers have been detained in the central part of the city. The police force has vowed actions will continue.
