“Bulgaria will hold negotiations with Russia for the repair of the old Soviet MiG fighter aircraft in the Bulgarian army at the nationalized Avionams aircraft repair plant,” Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said.

“A letter was received yesterday from a Russian state consortium that, after our conversation with Vladimir Putin, that they are inviting the Avionams management for negotiations so we may get our license back to repair the MiGs, Sus and other aircraft,” Boyko Borissov said in an interview for Nova TV. He explained that the aircraft repair plant was privatized in 2012 and lost its aircraft repair license. The government bought the aircraft repair plant back this month for close to 15 million euro.
