Astronomical “dog days” begin today

July 28, 29 and 30 are the astronomical “dog days”. According to popular belief, the dog days are the hottest days of the year.
With the introduction of the Julian calendar, they shifted to the 15, 16 and 17 July. But, as weathermen say, of course, the change in calendar does not mean the hottest days have moved – at the end of July the average temperatures reach their peak which has nothing to do with any religious feast days. According to the weather forecast, over the next three days temperatures will be high, though that is not unusual for the end of July. Today, 28 July the maximum temperatures for the country will range from 33 to 36 degrees C., the forecast for Friday, 29 July is much the same. It will be even hotter on Saturday when temperatures will rise by 1-2 degrees for most parts of the country.
