Chinese company plans to invest USD 100 million in Bulgaria

At a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in Sofia, a Chinese delegation presented an investment project for the manufacture of aluminum automobile wheel rims in Rousse on the Danube.

The project of the Chinese state-owned company SITIC Group envisages investments of USD 100 million and the creation of 300 jobs, promising to observe all EU environmental standards. The delegation stated an interest in investing in other sectors such as infrastructure and agriculture. The Bulgarian Prime Minister on his part stated that Chinese companies had been displaying a marked interest in Bulgaria because of the country’s strategic location and its economic and tax regime.
