Are you interested in seeing the country up from the sky? Turn up your face from the dullness of everyday life and watch the different side of our country. It is now possible without even leaving your home or office, thanks to modern technologies, used with mastery by a photographer and his skillful team. The http://bulgariaotvisoko.com website gives you an opportunity to feel the magic of some the most beautiful landmarks here, totally for free. The initiator of the air adventure Atanas Paskalev gives us more details on it:

“The idea was born spontaneously. While working on a joint project with a German NGO we had to use height footage. We couldn’t find a drone pilot back then and I had to become one. We bought a drone quickly and I began to share online what had been shot. It turned out that the initial footages had 40 – 50,000 views. That is why in February it occurred to me that this interest shouldn’t be scattered, but gathered at one spot. I created a website with the idea all videos to be distributed for free across all social networks. That is why they are a bit shorter, 2 – 5 minutes each.”

Baba Vida Fortress

Subtitles with short information about the spots filmed have been added to the videos. It would be a great idea those to be used by teachers in their history and geography classes, in order to make the latter a bit more interesting and up-to-date. The ambition of the projects’ creators is to show that many things of good quality can be made with less money.

“The historical subject will be mainly presented over the initial shots, as we have pictured mostly fortresses. Bulgaria is rich in many historical landmarks which are not well-presented, in my opinion. That is why I hope that this is the way for us to help things change. The rest is creativity. The spots look really beautiful, while filmed from the sky.”

The Blogradchik Rocks

The website provides now access to 16 short movies about the Baba Vida Fortress at Vidin, the Ovech one near Provadia, the Belogradchik Rocks, the Shumen Fortress and Cape Kaliakra. The team spared at least three days for each site, because everything is different from above, no matter how well one knows Bulgaria. Many of the frames cannot be used during the installation process and some of them need to be shot again. Mr. Paskalev admits that due to limited budget they couldn’t afford a composer and that’s why the music was purchased online. The fathers of the project hope that it will be just the beginning and that they will be able to move it onward with the support of donators. The initiative is worth state funding too, as it has the potential to attract tourists without spending millions of budget money.
