Miroslav Ivanov is a Bulgarian musician who proved his great talent both as guitar player and composer over the years. Most music fans associate his name with Infinity and Safo music bands. However, Miro used to play with Doni and Momchil music duo, as well as with Stefan Valdobrev, Kamelia Todorova, Vasil Naydenov, Arabel Karayan, Vasil Petrov, Dinamit Brass Band, D2, Vanya Shtereva, Elitsa Todorova, Stoyan Yankoulov. Mitko Shterev, the German DE PHAZZ music band, etc. Miroslav Ivanov proved himself as brilliant instrumentalist both on the local and the international stage. That is why he left for Dublin (Ireland) several years ago where he was working in a recording studio for over two years with Amoric band and released a music album together with that band. Later, Miro played in various music clubs in London and then he returned to Bulgaria. Three years ago he released his first solo album named Directions. Recently, the skillful Bulgarian guitarist made his music fans happy with his second album entitled Circus.
“I wrote most of the songs for my new album. However, two of them were written by Dimitar Karamfilov who plays the double bass. I have been working together with him for a very long time”, Miroslav Ivanov went on to say. “I am not the only composer in the Circus album. Unlike my debut album Directions, my new project consists of easy to memorize tunes. I remembered my excitement when I was a little boy and my parents took me to the circus for the first time. I reproduced that emotion in my pieces. That is why I named my second album Circus. Those who already listened to that album told me that they enjoyed a happy music. However, circus is not only funny and happy moments. That is why there is a whole range of moods in the music to my second album. I tried to combine music styles which have nothing in common at first sight. Dimitar Karamfilov (double bass) participates in Adrenaline X and Ecology pieces.”
Miroslav Ivanov recorded the Circus album together with Dimitar Semov (drums), Milen Kukosharov(piano), Radoslav Slavchev and Evden Dimitrov (bass), Rosen Zahariev-Roko (trumpet), Denis Popstoev (saxophone), as well as with many celebrated Bulgarian musicians. The music tour held after the premiere of the new album was very successful. The audience in Plovdiv, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas and Varna was very excited with Miro Ivanov's performance.
What is Miroslav Ivanov's new challenge?
“I am working on some personal music projects as well as on Rosen Zahariev's project named Metamorphosis. Roko is to release his album this autumn. I am also working together with pianist Vasil Spasov on his Funkallero project. Moreover, I have been working together with Grisha Georgiev (bass) and Deyan Dragiev (drums) on the Saint Electrics project. This is another original music project in the alternative rock genre. I also participate in Petya Dankova's music album which was released literally several days ago. In other words, 2016 abounds in new music albums.”
The dust cover of the Circus album is very original and was created by Polina Gerasimova. She made the whole vision of the album, together with the 3D Mapping.
