Incentives to unemployed who find jobs away from home

Photo: picture library

Unemployed and youths from social institutions who have graduated from school will have access to allowances to be able to pay for rent, kindergarten and nursery school and internet access, if they start work at a distance longer than 50 km from home. This is according to a bill of amendments to the Employment Encouragement Act prepared by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. The subsidy will be paid for no longer than 12 months provided the unemployed have found a permanent job in the private sector. The measure seeks to encourage unemployed persons to look for jobs outside the town or village where they live, as well as to support families in underdeveloped regions.
