The updated medium-term budget forecast for the period 2016-2018 envisages a total of 77million euros for the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of EU. This does not mean that all of the money will be spent. This was announced in parliament by Deputy Prime Minister for European Policies Coordination and Institutional Affairs and Minister of Education, Meglena Kuneva. She pointed out that with a decree by the Council of Ministers additional costs for the period 2016-2019, totaling 27 million euros, have also been approved. This includes funds for security, specialized transportation and personal protective equipment for the Interior Ministry, as well as for renovation of buildings.
