Brexit to have indirect effect on Bulgaria’s economy, BIA chair Danev says

Bulgaria and its modest economic development will be least affected by the outcome of the referendum in the UK, Executive Chair of the Bulgarian Industrial Association (BIA), Bozhidar Danev, has told the BTA. According to Danev, this country has always been in the periphery of British policy and Bulgaria’s trade turnover with the UK is relatively low - below 2.5 percent of the total trade of the country. At the same time British investments in Bulgaria are also minor. This country, however, will be indirectly affected because of the impact Brexit would have on leading partners of the UK that are also good trade partners of Bulgaria, such as the Netherlands and Germany.
