Bulgaria’s National Assembly rejected a bill proposed by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, which had to entrust that country’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov with the task to send an official proposal to the EU institutions to remove all Russian parliamentarians from EU blacklists and to negotiate reciprocal measures with Russia. Only 49 MPs from the leftist BSP and ABV parties and from the nationalistic Ataka party voted in favor. 39 MPs abstained and 39 other voted against. The Bulgarian Democratic Center did not take part at the voting.
