Switzerland lifts labor restrictions for Bulgarian citizens on June 1

On June 1 Switzerland is to lift the labor restrictions for all Bulgarian nationals. May 31, 2016, is the last day of the seven-year transitional period for Bulgarian and Romanian citizens set by the Agreement on Free Movement of Persons, signed between Switzerland and the EU on June 1, 2009. According to that agreement, the citizens of Bulgaria and Romania are subject to labor restrictions until May 31, 2016. As of June 1, 2016 the Bulgarian citizens will not have to apply for work permits for Switzerland anymore.
