Ten beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag distinction for 2016, the Chairman of the Bulgarian Blue Flag Movement Staminir Georgiev said. All of them are in the southern section of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast - Oasis near Lozenets, Dyuni near Sozopol, Harmantie Sozopol, Pomorie East, Sunny Beach North, Sunny Beach South, St. Vlas East, St. Vlas Central, Sunny Day and the yacht harbor. The award is an environmental label acknowledged by the international tourist industry and certifies that the beach is well-managed with excellent services including lifeguard, the seawater complies with standards and poses no threat for human health. The holder of this label should be proud of it because there are only 4,000 beaches from the world’s millions of beaches that are awarded with it, Stanimir Georgiev added.
