Bulgaria's Plovdiv hosts prestigious international wine competition

Some 130 million liters of wine were produced in Bulgaria in 2015 and over 50 million liters of those were sold on the foreign market, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, Vassil Grudev, said in the city of Plovdiv. He added that the past year was a record one for Bulgarian wine producers and one of the best for a period of 20 years. The minister was present at the opening of the 23rd edition of the prestigious international wine competition "Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.” Over 8,700 wines from more than 50 countries participate in the forum, including 257 from Bulgaria.
