On April 23, on the eve of Palm Sunday, Bulgarian jazz singer Beloslava will present to her fans her new project entitled "Beauty." Beauty will save the world, as people like to say, but the singer adds "... and beautiful music to it."
Four years have passed since Beloslava released her latest CD entitled "Where there's why..." And now, in the fourth month of the year, the jazz singer will once again present us with beautiful music in her 4th studio album. Here is what Beloslava told Radio Bulgaria about the beauty of life, which gave the name to this album:
"Beauty is a temple, a type of personal space that everyone understands in their own way. I take care of the inner temple, that of the heart. In the introduction of the song I tell how beauty when it is young "seduces, then without mercy and pity abandons." It remains that deep universe that lives in our souls and feeds on good music and love. I want to state clearly that the beauty that I and my colleagues strive for on stage and the music we make is inspiring. Beauty returns if over the years people feed it with kindness."
What's the story of the album and what about the featured tracks? More from Beloslava:
"It's a double album and this was our secret which we kept until the last moment. The first album is acoustic and we called it "Love." There I sing along with Lily Yoncheva /percussion/, Yuri Bozhinov /double bass/ and Zhivko Petrov /piano/. This is a project of 12 years ago, consisting of ten songs which have not been released so far. We decided that it should see the light of day. All compositions are familiar to our audience. The second album is "Beauty," which also has ten songs. Of them five are already singles which have come out on the music market, among them "Time for me is you," "Summer is around the corner", "Beauty". There is a duet with pop singer Grafa - "Dream", to which there is already a video. The song "Mama" was made very spontaneously. On 1 January this year, guitarist Anthony Rikev who wrote three of the songs on my new album, called to offer me a melody. As I heard it, I was so inspired that by the end of the day I wrote the text. Thus the song dedicated to my mother was born and I was the happiest person in the world."
Besides in Sofia, Beloslava will premiere the album "Beauty" also in other cities around the country by the end of the year. For the time being, upcoming is a gig at the Burgas-based opera house. Here's more:
"On April 23rd in Sofia and on the 25th in Burgas, we will co-create music between five planets - those are my colleagues. The musical world of each of them is as rich as an entire planet. Zhivko Petrov /piano/ is the man without whom I cannot go without for 18 years now. He is a music producer on most of the songs on the album which he wrote and arranged. Almost as much time we have been working with Dimitar Semov /percussion/. With Rosen Zahariev - Rocco /trumpet/ we have been "crossing our ways" on stage for 15 years and Dimitar Karanfilov /double bass / is a great jazzman and also plays in "Beauty." With us will be Elena Kokorska /backing vocals/ whom I continue to admire. She has a unique voice, and for five years we have been working on joint projects. Vasil Ampov aka Grafa will be my guest, because just recently our duet Dream was released. With him we have friends for 20 years and only now did we make a song together and it is fantastic. Venzy who sings with me in "Time for me is you" will also be onstage. Adriana Nikolova-Pechenkata, beatbox champion, will appear in an important R'B part. That is why I say that when I sing with these musicians I feel like between planets. At times I manage to distance myself from my performance in order to be able to enjoy them", the singer says.
