New party of ousted former MRF leader officially inaugurated

The inaugural conference of a new party in Bulgaria - "Democrats for Responsibility, Freedom and Tolerance" or DOST, has taken place under tight security measures in the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia. Leader of the new party is former chairman of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Lyutvi Mestan, who was ousted from the leader’s position of MRF after declaring support for Turkey in its dispute with Moscow over downing of a Russian warplane. In his speech to the delegates of the new party, Mestan said he believed in universal Euro-Atlantic values that included freedom and tolerance. Turkey's Ambassador to Bulgaria Suleyman Gokce was also present at the ceremony, as well as Turkish MPs.
