PM Borissov calls for EU aid to all first-line countries under migration pressure

As a European Union outer border Bulgaria makes great efforts and strictly applies all provisions of European and Schengen legislation with a view to halting migration pressure, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has said today during talks at the Council of Ministers with Austria’s federal ministers of interior Johanna Mikl-Leitner, and of defense and sports Hans Peter Doskozil. The Bulgarian prime minister believes it is important that all countries at the first line could rely on EU support for protecting the bloc’s outer borders. Bulgaria has informed the European Commission about the country’s needs related to migration measures, Boyko Borissov has said and has added that any support from Austria will be highly appreciated. He has pointed out that there are no new trends regarding the migration flow but that the country is preparing for timely action if needed.
