“I feel true joy and happiness when the fans sing my songs along with the performers,” Stefan Diomov says. He has composed and written over 400 songs, he has initiated different music contests and has established five famous pop groups. Mr. Diomov can boast of an endless list of awards for his work. In 2015 the composer celebrated his 70th jubilee with several concerts across the country. The culmination is forthcoming at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. Bulgarian pop stars from the present and the recent past are among the participants.
The Pette Sezona /Five Seasons/ and Vrabcheta /Sparrows/ formations will be onstage as well – two youth bands that have been singing Stefan Diomov’s pieces for years.
“The concert is scheduled for March 9 and I have been preparing it for a long time”, the composer explained several days ago for the BNR. “The slogan is really telling: Let’s Sing Together! This means let’s get together, let’s sing together and remember the good old songs. The participants in the show will sit onstage in the metaphoric Rudy’s Tavern, we will take sips of wine while listening to the music. The songs will be well-known and beloved by the audience. The Tonika SV band, favorite to generations of Bulgarians will sing together for the first time again after years of separation. We will listen to solo renditions of famous Vania Kostova and Tony Dimitrova. Next come young Boyan Mihaylov and Dani Ognyanov… Over 50 musicians will take part in the show. I would say that the staging of the whole thing will be unusual. The orchestra of Levon Manukyan will be in charge of the music. I did special arrangements and composed many songs years ago, exclusively for the Vrabcheta band from Sofia. We will hear Sled Gradskata Muzika /Following the City Band/, Praznik /Holiday/ and Karnaval /Carnival/. The Pette Sezona is another formation of young musicians – I established it in my birthplace – the town of Burgas. I see they are in incredible shape at the moment. I have tried to assemble a program where any fan can find his or her piece and sing along.”
The audience will also have the chance to listen to the musical greetings of renowned Bulgarian pop singers Yordanka Hristova, Orlin Goranov and others.
