Bulgarian rock music has more often becoming part of the concert stage in Europe and on other continents. Guitar player Slavcho Nikolov, part of the BTR band, also plays in The Foundation, which gathers five rock musicians from different bands. In addition to Slavcho the band includes Doni (Doni and Momchil), Kiril Marichkov (Shturcite), Venko Poromanski, (Te) and Ivan Lechev (FSB). They have been together for several years now and perform songs from the repertoire of each of their bands in new arrangements. Here is what Slavcho Nikolov told Radio Bulgaria about the upcoming concerts of the Foundation and BTR.
"The first tour will be together with The Foundation. It starts on February 10 and would finish at the end of the month. It includes five concerts in major cities in Australia. We'll have one in New Zealand, too. I can boldly say that we are the first Bulgarian formation to have such a tour so far away from home. It is difficult to organize such an event, but we work with a very good manager - Orlin Mirchev, who organizes all of our concerts.”
The Foundation will also have a concert on April 4 in Hall №1 of the National Palace of Culture together with the symphony orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio. We would present new songs as well as well-known pieces of our repertoire. Conductor of the concert will be Grigor Palikarov. We have already had a couple of rehearsals with the orchestra of the radio and I believe the atmosphere would be great and people would enjoy their favorite songs. The tour and the concert on April 4 will be a final stage of this period for the band. We have an idea to start doing original music and record a new album, Slavcho Nikolov adds.
Guitarist Slavcho Nikolov also told us about the upcoming European tour with his band BTR:
"We are going to have a big tour in Europe, starting with a concert in Vienna on March 4. Next come Nuremberg, Zurich, Brussels, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, London and others. People can check the band’s Facebook page to learn more about the concerts. We would include songs from the entire repertoire of BTR generated over the years and would also focus on compositions from the new album in order for more people to hear it. The tour will continue until March 25 and would include a total of 15 concerts."
