Singer Preslava Peicheva about the fast track to fame

Young pop singer Preslava Peicheva has had a few great professional moments in 2015. She recently released a new single, You:

„This is my cover version of the original track created for the Te Band by Yassen Veltchev and Lubo Kirov. I absolutely love this ballad. It has never been released as a single but I have made it part of my repertoire. I am happy to have been able to record it.”

Last year Preslava Peicheva presented the summer hit Midnight People. A few foreign DJs have made its club versions and have played them across Europe. In the meantime she has released a second single for the British label that she has signed up with, Soulful Evolution. The One is a remix of the piece Maybe That’s Me that she presents with her colleagues from Te Band. As the summer peaked, Preslava Peicheva is part of the new project of the BNR Music Production House, FSB for Others. More, from the singer:

„I am very happy to join the project in which the musicians from the Free Sailing Band will record songs for other performers. I should like to thank Rumen Boyadzhiev and Daniela Kuzmanova, because I have already received the demo of the track. As I told them for me this is a dream come true since FSB is enigmatic in Bulgarian music, and has been an inspiration for generations. I hope that the audio will be ready in a month at the latest. I hope there will be a video to the track too.”

Preslava Peicheva became famous following her success in the first Bulgarian version of Music Idol in 2007. In the beginning the young singer was not enthusiastic about the idea.
„In fact, my sister signed me up. I vowed to my vocal pedagogue I would try without any serious expectations. As the project began I became aware that I had the chance of contacting important people. Well, without any doubt TV music reality shows can give a good start to singers. Until the end of Music Idol I kept secret three proposals for a contract. I had to think twice how I wanted to go on.

One of the proposals came from the producer and manager of Te Band who had watched the Music Idol concerts.

Together with her colleagues from the band Te Preslava is part of the team of the music show’s new formats. Is participation in such a format a double-edged sword for the inexperienced in the world of showbiz? Here is the opinion of the singer:

„The first thing that applicants state is that they want to become famous. On the one hand, this is quite normal for young guys. On the other though, they have to realize that it is wrong to begin with the idea of fame because after the format is over returning to reality might be painful. Making a career in music requires lots of efforts and compromises. Young artistes have to find their unique image and style. Just copying someone else is a road to nowhere. Well, newcomers to showbiz need this piece of advice while at music formats no one will tell them all about it. The formats are made to bring profit to their authors.”
