If you are a sci-fi or fantasy fan, you can have fun together with friends and prove as a daredevil in the first Bulgarian sci-fi board game called "Bright Future."

A group of young enthusiasts offer a darker look towards the future. What would happen after a nuclear war? "Bright Future" is a card -driven game set in a world devastated by nuclear attacks... But life goes on. Players can immerse themselves in a post-apocalyptic world and try to survive in the ruined tunnels of the Sofia subway or the legendary underground bunkers in the Bulgarian capital city. Danger is everywhere and the dynamic game is characterised by fantastic design and unique characters that have weapons and use tokens, allowing them to open secret underground doors and many more.

Radomir Mirchev, aka Gadina Prokleta, has loong been inspired by games and his friends asked him to create something unique for Bulgaria – a sci-fi board game. Radomir Mirchev and Gerorgi Yanachkov, one of the artists who drew the characters and their weapons, told us more about the game:

"This is an adventure game. After a nuclear war about 98% of people have died. The to percent who were lucky to survive live in the tunnels and underground bunkers of Sofia. Some of the survivors want to restore the old civilization, while others have turned into mutants and started creating something new," Rado says.

Together with his friends he spent a lot of time underground, examining and mapping the tunnels and bunkers located in the Bulgarian capital city. This helped them make the routes as realistic as possible. Radomir Mirchev told us more about underground Sofia.

"We were walking across the city to find out where the tunnels were, as we wanted to give a sense of realism. Of course, we exagerated facts to make things more interesting. We have mapped various tunnels and bunkers and used these graphics in the game. "

Rado has managed to attract a team of artists, designers and lovers of board games who initially worked for free. Despite the difficulties, after years of hard work, "Bright Future" is already a fact. The game supports two scenarios. Players can work together trying to stop the spread of epidemics after nuclear attacks left the world without hospitals and doctors. In the other scenario players compete against each other, trying to overcome underground hazards and reach the end point – a secret bunker under the former communist Party House downtown Sofia.

Now everyone can enjoy the thrill of living in a post-apocalyptic world. A few days ago the game was officially presented in a Sofia club. The game is in English in order to reach more players across the world

"We have great support from the US. There, people show they like the game with their wallets,” says Georgi. “We have fans in Europe, too, especially in Germany. In Bulgaria fewer people play board games.”

Still, the creators of "Bright Future" hope to conquer the hearts of Bulgarian fans of board games.
