Turkish businessmen to make large-scale investments in the Balkans
The Turkish business united in the Confederation of the Businesswomen and Businessmen in Turkish Industry is to make large-scale investments in the Balkan countries in 2015, Vice President of the confederation Aljatin Bayraktar said. The investments will be made in Bulgaria, Albania, Croatia and Macedonia mainly in several sectors: power engineering, tourism, textile and the food industry.
Greeks approve their cabinet’s policy
Eight of ten Greek citizens assess positively the policy of the newly-elected Greek cabinet, a sociological survey shows. 58% of the surveyed nationals answered yes to the question whether their government was holding right or wrong negotiations and 23.5% said its actions were rather right than wrong. Some 79.7% of the Greeks are optimists about the outcome of the talks with their partners and 81% of the polled want their country to continue to be part of the Eurozone. Another survey shows that 60.6% of the Greeks approve the cabinet’s policy line while 37.1% express disapproval.
Romania and Bulgaria explore sunken ships in Black Sea
Romanian and Bulgarian experts are currently working on a map of the wreckages of sunken vessels along the Black Sea coastline, in order to provide access to tourists to them. The researches were carried out 12 sea miles away from the sea shore and 50 meters below the sea surface. Remains of 26 sunken vessels were found - 16 in the Romanian section and 10 in Bulgarian waters.
Macedonia and Serbia launch intergovernmental sitting
The intergovernmental sitting between Serbia and Macedonia ended with 7 agreements for bilateral cooperation in the following fields: economy, tourism, railway transport, education, environment protection, culture and foreign policy. Macedonia’s Premier Nikola Gruevski pointed out that the second joint sitting of the Macedonian and the Serbian governments held in Belgrade proved the excellent cooperation between the two countries.
Slovenia’s average salary reaches over EUR 1,000
The average net salary in Slovenia in 2014 amounted to EUR 1005.64, which is 1% more compared to 2013, data of Slovenia’s National Statistical Office show. The average net salary in the public sector stood at EUR 1,128.43 and the one in the private sector amounted to EUR 932.62. The average monthly net salary in December 2014 was to the tune of EUR 1021.37 and the gross salary in the same month amounted to EUR 1,540.50.
Croatian archaeologist to fly to Mars
Croatia’s archaeologist Marko Lukic is among all one hundred candidates chosen for a space travel to Mars. 50 men and 50 women from all parts of the globe were selected among 202,586 applicants within the frameworks of the Mars One Project, who could become the first settlers on the Red Planet. The twenty eight-year-old Croatian archaeologist is one of them.
Nearly 50,000 people emigrate from Albania per year
Over 46,000 Albanian nationals left this country in 2014 and emigrated mainly in countries of Western Europe, the Albanian Institute of Statistics announced. Nearly 50,000 Albanians have been leaving their country since 2000 and the country’s population has been constantly dwindling ever since. However, some emigrants started to return home after 2011 due to the economic crisis in Europe. Lastyearatotalof 28,000 emigrantsreturned to Albania.
